Physical therapy in Soddy-Daisy

Every visit is with Otis, start to finish

Henley Physical Therapy is a one-therapist clinic for adults who hike, run, climb, garden and work on their feet. You see the same person every time, and he plans your care with you.

What we see

Start with the part that is giving you trouble

Open a region to see what people come in for. Not sure where yours fits? Call, and Otis will tell you whether physical therapy makes sense.

The therapist

One therapist, and the same two faces every visit

Otis Henley, PT, owns and runs the clinic. He does your evaluation, plans your care with you and treats you himself at every visit. Zoe Arroyo, PTA, a physical therapist assistant, works beside him and guides exercise time under his direction.

  • Otis examines you at your first visit and checks in at each one after

  • You never start over with someone who has not met you

  • When something is outside physical therapy, he says so and sends you to the right doctor

A visit

What happens, step by step

It is mostly conversation and watching you move. Nothing starts until you and Otis agree on it.

  • 01

    You book

Choose a time online or call. The form never asks about your health. You tell Otis in person.

  • 02

    Otis listens first

How it started, what your week looks like and what you want to get back to.

  • 03

    He examines how you move

Movement, strength and how you load the area. He explains what he finds in plain words, with the risks and the choices.

  • 04

    You leave with a plan

A few exercises for home, what to change in your week and when to come back. How many visits depends on what he finds and how you respond.

Questions people ask first

Do I need a referral?

In Tennessee you can start without a referral. Your plan may still ask for one. Call with your plan card and we will check before you book.

Does my plan cover this, and do you take Medicare?

We bill many kinds of plans, including most PPO plans, Medicare, Medicaid, workers' compensation and auto injury coverage. Your plan decides what it pays. We check your benefits and call you before your first visit.

Who treats me?

Otis treats you himself, every visit. Zoe may guide your exercises beside him, under his direction. The length of a visit is in the bar at the top of this page.

Will it hurt?

We work within what you can tolerate. Some movements and exercises can be uncomfortable. Say so, and Otis changes what he is doing.
